Oooh, Ne-chan, this was a great rant. I hope you don't mind that I linked one of my friends (mr_maxwell) to this. I think you two would enjoy ranting on things like this with each other :)

*applause* Good girl. You should also see Delovely because it's a good flick and no one is too pretty. Plus, you know, Kevin Kline is teh awesome actor.

You bring up many good points. As I was reading this, at one point I paused and thought over my own personal favorite shounen ai pairings, and realized that they DID fit inside the bishounen mould. However, I actually had to think about it, because while they are beautiful they actually ACT like men (unlike in certain series I've seen). Whenever I attempt to write for them I can't help but focus on that aspect, and so in the end I don't feel I'm writing about *just* pretty men, but just simply men ( ... )

Actually, I can see why one would want to read about 'pretty' boys in fanfiction. Why? It's a tool to turn women on, slash writing. And people, in general, like pretty things. The problem is when someone stands up and likes manly muscled men and the rest of the people don't.. or vice versa. *nods*

I like reading/writing about characters I find attractive. It is that way for... most writers in fandom. It really is. If that girl only finds the girlie ones attractive, that is her loss. Her mistake was trying to push it on the rest of the community. (Oh come on, if everyone liked pretty boys then who would love the other ones?)

I absolutely agree. Exactly my point. I guess the only thing that can be added here (not exactly concerning gays) is the fact that I personally feel spoilled. I mean, all those men, jrockers, whom I worship are pretty, talented, they wear expensive clothes, they look smart. Sometimes I notice that I expect all those guys whom I know in real life to be like them. And it is very very bad. The stereotypes damage people brains (mine is damaged alright, lol), but I know no way to avoid them.

As for gay couples, each time I see one in rl, I go like "Aww..." ^^;; (no, seriously ^^;;; )
All people are different. They fall in love because they really like that person and not because they find him/her just hot. In this case it would be just the lust. :\ (I hope I am making some sense, my migraine is killing me.)
I like watching movies in which, say, gays (or anybody) arent exactly TOO pretty, I mean, it makes the movie more realistic.
*expires*
