A few months ago a guy on my flist killed himself. He left a note for his wife to make a final post for him. It was a letter to his LJ friends, mentioning a few of us by name. It was surreal.

Holy shit. A friend of mine attempted suicide back in January also.

Surreal doesn't even begin to cover it.

I enjoyed what you had to say here -- but certainly hope you plan to be with us for many, many years to come.

There's nothing wrong with lacking a fear of death. But keep in mind that it takes more courage (or sheer guts) to face life...

On that note, hang tough. It's well worth it.

Equally, there's nothing romantic or special about being ready to die for somebody. Being prepared to live for them, on the other hand, that's special.
