At least when I die, I will have the most supreme satisfation right before my death to know one thing; I was and am Kaveh Fucking Hashemi. We may all very well end up spending eternity in blackness however, none of you will ever have had the pleasure of being me for even one day. That may not mean anything after you die but it will gnaw at your very core for the rest of your life. Enjoy.

When you can't prove that something is real, it means it might actually be real - so long as you can't disprove it. For example, we know that a human being can't shrink down the size of a penny. That can be disproven; we know it not to be true. However, while no one can prove God exists, no one can disprove it, either. That means it's possible God exists. And if you consider that God is whatever created us, than it's certain he DOES exist, even if he is nature itself ( ... )

first of all, waking life is about existentialism, which is hardly the issue, and frankly a horrible way of thinking. secondly, dave, i generally agree with what you are saying. i don't quite see eye to eye of the spirit part existing forever. yet, i like how you mentioned the brain wave frequences. obviously waht you care about and your opinions are shaped by experiences in life. i think once we discovered dna, we went crazy. sure there are somethings that are coded into your body. diseases and such. but just because you have something like that doesn't mean you can't fight it, or even fully recover (lance armstrong). i have to go to class now, but when i get back, i'll post exactly why god doesn't exist, but even if we want to assume he/she/it did, why no one should worship him/her/it/, or even give it the time of day.

ok basiscally here is your whole argument in a nutshell for the non-existence of god, and is very solid. first of all the word god in a modern sense, implies omnipotentence. a non-omnipotent god would be not much different than a leader of a country or a CEO of some huge world corporation. look at the world around you. disease, famine, genocide, and country music. omnipotentence is pure good, as well as all knowing and all powerful. this god has obviously created evil if he has created this world. and if one was to argue that evil is the work of satan, then your god is no more powerful than satan as the evil would have been expunged by his awesome power, and obviously not omnipotent ( ... )

that's a good way to look at it. although you will have some problems with some rationalists. empiricists would agree with you 100%, but unfortunatly the nature of science is to falsify. this however doesn't solidify any kind of future results, as science is mostly used as a tool to predict results. all of the conclusions are based entirely on previously collect data and experimentation. until we collect data, there is no way to be 100% certain that a "god" gene won't pop up randomly. that is the b.s. that rationalists will try and feed you. most rationalists are just that, rationalists. but some read descartes and think that his super scepticism is awesome and will try and come from his angle, which by the way, is illogical and he is why when you beg the question, or use circular "illogic" they call it a Cartisan circle. there is no scientific evidence of god and there never will be. yet, i am always refining my rational arguments on why god could not exist. that way, you shup everyone up if they didn't take the time to make a sound ( ... )
