Friday was my last day at Starbucks. I am relieved but still a bit anxious, since it was my fall back job. All told, 2007 was a productive and fun year. I am expecting even more for 2008.

I supported myself the entire year, helped organize two film festivals, got a better job and met a lot of cool people.

My only real resolution for the coming year? To write every day. This is the one area where I'm lagging, and that doesn't sit well with me.

I have just worked 20 days straight between three jobs. My body hardly knows what day or time it is. I passed out on the couch after Starbucks today, and woke up in a mild panic, thinking that it must be time to head off to another job. I was really looking forward to coming back to Miami for a bit, but once I got here I realized it was all based around the people here I missed. The city truly no longer holds anything for me, as if it ever did. I went to South Beach tonight, took in the aura and saw the ocean. It was nice, but overall I'd rather be in Austin. This is going to be a good weekend. Fiery Furnaces tonight, Joanna Newsom with the Austin Symphony Orchestra tomorrow, and the Little Gentlemen (Andy's brother's band) on Sunday. Yub.
