why do all these shootings keep on happening?!

it feels like after columbine some kind of bubble was burst that before that, seemed to suggest things like this never happened.

is it just the media/the internet or are people just FRICKEN INSANE?!

*shrug* when will Americans give up on the stubborn belief that the individual right to a firearm is not only of benefit but an essential characteristic of our liberty?

Gun control is meaningless. There's almost never any good indicators for who should and shouldn't be able to purchase a firearm, and even when there is, it's not hard for that person to acquire a firearm through different channels. What we need is a rejection of the mentality that guns are necessary and a mass exile of firearms from our society.

I think we need personal nuclear warheads.

amy was telling me that apparently there was some school shooting where a student ran out to their car, got their own gun out, and smoked the shooter, but hardly any of the media ever said anything about it. i should probably look it up.

point is, everyone knows we need to either do what marko says or the opposite, putting a shotgun and a broadsword into the hands of every man, woman and child and teaching them how to use it. it's the same thing as the death penalty, both extremes work really well, but the lukewarm way we actually do things doesnt work at all.

every society is different. Look at the swiss, they ALL have guns. Everyone is taught how to use them and they don't even go off to war. Its just not a cool thing there. In America guns are glorified, thats why we all want guns. However we like to mix our message and cry about how dangerous guns are. We cry about how dangerous everything we like is. Really if guns were not somethign to be afraid of then people would not think to harm others with them. Guns are a good thing in the hands of decent people.

Media also plays a large part in our love-fear of firearms. You don't hear about the crime stopped by guns, just like you don't hear about how much coal it takes to drive an electric car. (Al Gore would shit his pants) No one is interested in common heros, they love the villan. Americans love to think about how bad the villan's life is and how they can humanise him. No one gives 2 shits about someone who happend to uphold our values.

Americans like the Rebels

I would just like to say that I wasn't even commenting on gun control

I was commenting on insane people and the constant coverage of them in the media.
