It's good to be back

I'm really on cloud nine at the moment-- words cannot express how good it is to be back home in Texas. I may not actually like Texas all that much, but it is still home. :) The first thing I noticed after landing in Houston (after a gruelling eleven-and-a-half hour flight) was how friendly everyone was. I missed my connecting flight, and all the ( Read more... )

Haha, all things that I noticed too, but I guess the other way around, coming here. But hey! Albert Heijn isn't that crummy!

pharmacists can refuse to fill prescriptions for birth control/the morning-after pill if they are morally opposed to it..

yep... i posted about it too.

really... a pharmacist should think *beforehand* if his morals allow him to hand out people's prescriptions...

and decide to open up a vegetable shop instead if they have too many morals keeping them from doing ther job.

still nice reading you're having a fun return home :-)

Oh, lady, you must be in Shopping Heaven!

I know what you mean about the social chit-chat. I'm a chronic
checkout line chatter and I really miss it here.
I hope the rest of your trip goes as well (without the missed
connection)

Everytime I arrive back in the States, I love it, and I really miss parts of being there when I am back home in tiny Holland. But it's the same way the other way around as well! I guess both countries have their pros and cons and special things that make us love it there. :) Perhaps we should consider ourselves lucky, bucause we get a chance to see and live a bit of both?

Enjoy your time with your family and fellow Texans =) When will you be back here to dislike the dog poopies on the sidewalk? ;-)

I'm not sure which grocery store in the Netherlands you go to, but my parents's one is full off small town checkout girls who *only* chat away for hours, while I just want to go through the damn line and get home. I *hate* chitchat.

Oh, and do you *really* need 31 varieties of pasta sauce? Come on, five is enough, and if you want more variety, you can actually make it yourself, you know? Cooking instead of just buying ready-made stuff! And I rather bag myself, and bring my own bag, and not having to pay extra the bagger's wages or the bags going straight into the environment.

Also, my Konmar in Delft had a good wide range of foods and is well lit. There's a difference between Albert Heyn and Konmar on one side and the Lidl and the Edah on the other side.
