today i had the strongest emotional reaction i've ever had to the news. there is no reason as to why it would come today. today is just yet another series of the last 400-some days there have been deaths and fighting in iraq over the past year and change. but, today, it just hit me. maybe it was the other news that got me..bush and cheney ( Read more... )

Dearest Stevie,

A dear friend of mine is in the rangers and currently in afghanistan. Three days ago someone in his corps ( i believe thats the term) lost both of his legs to a land mine.

No its not head to head combat, but it made me wake up a bit. When you are actually connected to a human being and you know their name and you can picture your face and hear their voice, its that much harder to accept such things.

unbelievably agreed. i guess last night this finally hit home. i always need to have a moment when that happens. like with 9-11 it didn't happen til I watched all of the victims families fill up the trade center site and realize how many people died.

dearest steve,

i would have to say Thomas Friedman's Op-ed today about Bush and Kerry slacking was key. Also, i loved how he was writing from Japan and pretty much displaying first hand how fucked Kerry is if Japan and the US economies keep on growing. Japan doing better+US doing better= George W doing better. Man o' man. I had a crucial talk with my mom until 2 am the other night and i have about the same feelings. i wish we were still in boston and we could take a walk around the reflecting pool to discuss. thanks for the call last night! -jason gregoire
