I have a growing disgust for Facebook, which I have just discovered is an accepted word in the auto correcting format and my phone. I say bollocks to it. It's constantly trying to twist me into making it more money, and I'm constantly resisting. I use it less and less as the years go by, as it's mutated from the excellent platform it used to be into what you describe.

don't get me wrong. I don't think there is anything wrong with interacting with people on the internet. it's just Facebook manages to do it in a way that feels alienated. it makes long posts hard to write, and tends to bury comments. even twitter with it's limits doesn't feel so constraining.

(it isn't so much of a substitute when you're engaging with people on the other side of the world)
