Supporting PETA because you are against animal testing is like supporting IRA Bombers because you like the Pope. Or, in my personal case, supporting the NRA because you're a gun lover. In all cases at some point most intelligent people will find themselves thinking "Gee, I wish the people I agreed with on this particular point weren't all complete dipshits about everything else ever."

Oh I don't like Peta at all for anything. I think they're all a bunch of idiots. I feel most of their supporters are kids who like animals but don't actually learn about the group they support.

Or a vegitarians excuse to feel important by suporting a group that is standing up to something. If someone wants to help animals supporting a group like PETA is just stupid. They don't help animals.

That's terrible. I think most researchers do care about their animals. Especially when they're primates. How could they not?

I can't stand groups that say they're all about treating life with love and care yet they treat their fellow human so poorly.

recently, HBO ran a pretty good documentary on PETA. you might try and download it if you're interested. I think it did a pretty good job of presenting both sides because, after all, PETA will always talk to the press. And with that, I feel pretty confident in saying that Ingrid Newkirk is batshit crazy.

oh and by the way, hi.

how's it going?

yeah, me too; got my head down working. But it is a lot of fun. I've been building some high-ish powered lasers. Soon we hope to use them to slow down some atoms that are bouncing around in a vacuum chamber.

Stopping things just by shining light on them is a little strange. But then, thats why I find it a lot of fun.

Ingrid Newkirk is a sponsor of terrorist activity, by NATO definition. She supports the ALF, a terrorist orgasnization that used armed violence to force their opinions upon others. The ALF and Newkirk are *WAY* worse than Michael Vick, mainly because they may never have to stand and face their actions in court. Hell, I'd be amused if they gave her a month in Gitmo just to see what would happen.

Newkirk on Human Reporduction:

"I am not only uninterested in having children. I am opposed to having children. Having a purebred human baby is like having a purebred dog; it is nothing but vanity, human vanity."

Newkirk on her job as an Animal Shelter worker in the 1970's:

"I would go to work early, before anyone got there, and I would just kill the animals myself. Because I couldn't stand to let them go through that. I must have killed a thousand of them, sometimes dozens every day."...and if you can't believe that the leader of PETA, a person that said she would rather see humans die than lab rats, would admit to killing thousands of ( ... )

Also, here's the stats on the ammount of animals PETA has killed IN-HOUSE.

In 2005 Newkirk killed 90% of her defenseless captives and adopted only 6% - a ratio far worse than any pound in the country. Read her own statistics:

Year 2005 2004 2003 2002
Received 2145 2,640 2,224 2,680
Adopted 146 361 312 382
Killed 1946 2,278 1,911 2,298
Transferred 69 1 1 2
% Killed 90.7 86.3 85.9 85.7
% Adopted 06.8 13.7 14.0 14.3

See PETA's paperwork...

PETA claims that most animals they euthanized were sick or in need of too much care. IT seems that a company that claims that animals are more important than humans would utelize every penny at their disposal to provide the best surgical and post-op care for sick or disabled animals, just as a human rights organization or the WHO would provide for humans.

Srsly, ppl, if you don't interbreed with some other kind of animal, your children are going to have CRAZY hip problems.

I'll take bad hips if only to *not* satify all those cosplay kid's furry wet dreams.

Which is ironic as, at least to my knowledge, some of the most egregious crimes against animals happen in the ocean. If only we could give sturgeon little puppy eyes.

Which is fortunate because they're also conveniently delicious, and you don't have to feel guilt eating it if it doesn't have puppy eyes, right?
