Eight and a half years ago, Devon, Miguel, and I started a nightclub that at the time was a response to the (then) massively over played synth pop and standard industrial/goth tracks being played at Death Guild, Assimilate, and other local SF clubs ( Read more... )

As someone who came to the team very late in the game, I have to say that I am incredibly proud to be able to say I was a part of Meat (or I'm sorry, MEAT, if Devon decides to give me shit for it not being in all caps again). You guys gave me a place to get more experimental and hard with my visuals to an actual crowd, and having that as a playground has been instrumental in my development as a VJ.

Also, it was a hell of a good party.

I couldn't come out last night because, well, NZ's a hell of a commute, but just wanted to say *thanks*. For all of it.

I loved Meat for the years that I lived in the city. It was a joy and a pleasure and not something that I have experienced since moving to small town, totally hidden Kansas. The most I can hope for is that VnV Nation occasionally confuses Kansas City for something more interesting then it is and plays a venue but mostly, any of the really good acts just won't come here.

I wanted to express my thanks for putting it on for as long as you did.

I'm originally from Los Angeles and have spent more time at Bunker then is worth recounting. Bunker has its merits but it's never been the friendly atmosphere Meat is and was.

Thanks for the great memories. It made a difference in my life.
