Goodbye Sherman

Aug 31, 2005 21:06

Sherman died tonight.  He ate breakfast this morning, but wouldn't eat tonight.  We took him to the emergency vet, only to have him die while they were trying to treat him.

We are obviously very worried about Juniper now.

Not much else I can say or think or do at the moment.

Sherman

Thank you. Sherman came a long way and lived a long life. He was a very special bunny.

Yes, bunnies seem to have / develope a special personality. My friend Bianca had a biiig bunny ( those who are almost as big as cats). His name was Otto, and Otto behaved like a dog. He loved to jump in the car and join my friend for grocery, waited in the car till she came back. He loved cars, one day he sneaked into the neighbors car and went with him to his work. Then Bianca had to go there and get him back...
I miss my bunnies, too. Some years ago, a neighbors dog destroyed only in 20 minutes of my absence the chicken-fence of my bunny-cage in the garden and murdered my bunny Napoleon and guineapig Scooter. Never ever we had thought our neighbor's dog could do something like that, she always was peaceful. But in her hut we found evidences... :( sorry me going beyond the scope, I wanted to ask you, how is Juniper?

Juniper is eating and is healthy, but she keeps getting mad at me and stomping away. Maybe she thinks I'm just hiding Sherman somewhere.

Sherman was 11 pounds, so very much cat-sized.
