Since we were a little strapped to vacate this holiday weekend, we decided to be productive.  We're painting Spare-oom - I figure if we ever do manage to procreate, the least we could do is have a space to keep the dumpling.  We had previously been using that room as random storage space.  Good thing I took a 4 day weekend because it's taken nearly ( Read more... )

You know we feel your pain on the leaky roof. We're watching Hanna to see if she's going to test the repairs on our house.

We're considering tube skylights too! I think it would be a cool way to bring some natural light into the basement.

They do seem like a less expensive alternative and I've heard they leak less than standard ones so there's that. I'm trying to visualize how that would work in the basement? Come in from the backside or?

We haven't had a problem with our traditional skylight leaking. The one in our previous TH leaked during Isabel, though.

We'd run them down an interior wall. You just install reflectors in the bends so that the light carries.

That's wicked cool. Looks like Gustav reined in some - I was relieved to hear on the news this morning the damages were minimal and levies held. Has any of your group heard from the folks you worked with to rebuild?
