It''s twenty degrees outside and five hundred thousand people are without power. We had a terrible ice storm that knocked out power to the whole county. I'm POST menopausal and my thyroid no longer functions. I'm drying up, slowing down and hot flashing daily.
I thought these were suppose to be the Golden Years. I think I was tricked.

It's been ninety plus degrees here the past week and my air conditioner died a week ago. I have a company here now installing a duel system to the tune of eight thousand dollars. My son, a sophomore in college, just called to tell me he mailed me a check for thirteen thousand dollars. He worked really hard this summer selling security systems and earned more than he needed for college. Ernie seeded the yard (almost two acres) with a thousand dollars worth of seed three weeks ago, We've gotten a quarter of an inch of rain since the seed was put down. I'd say a third of it germinated. I watered it as well as I could, but when the temperature is 100+ it's hard to win. The weather has finally cooled down and I guess I'll seed it ( Read more... )
