She lived with me while my daughter Allison was small and had a baby that was given up for adoption. Here's the mahogany table I bought on Craig's for $30. The lady said it belonged to her great grandmother. I actually made a futile attempt at talking her out of it, but she just didn't want it. It was all scratched up and burned with water marks. I wish I had a before and after, but I don't. I love making old things beautiful again.

I'm driving up to Michigan from Louisville to see Lake Michigan and visit with my sister and her family. I drove a half hour away to pick up a Tempurpedic mattress I bought on Craig's list for $350. I took Ernie's truck and when I got there I couldn't find the tie down cords so the lady gave me a piece of rope. Allison and Everett left for Georgia today. It's such a tease to see them knowing that they have to go home so far away. I really enjoyed their visit and was so sad to say good bye. I hope someday they live closer.

Outside looks like a wonderland of icicle covered trees and snow everywhere. It's really beautiful. I lost several large limbs on my birch tree. Tree branches are so heavy that they're almost at ground level. We finally got power back after two days, but there are still three hundred thousand people without power.
