So we promised to put photos and video on the website and as you can see we haven't yet. Let's just say that where we are in the Midwest right now that it's not exactly "connected

Pat & Ken have been very kind to us, taking us in as if we were their own children (they have 3). We used to pop in most anytime and have Sunday breakfast, play pinoccle, or just visit with them. Or Ken would come over and help Gary fix this or that on the house and Pat would cook dinner during the remodeling phases of the house.
When Krystan was born, we discussed how she should address them since they are so much a part of our lives. We didn't think that tagging Grandma or Grandpa would be fair to their own grandchildren or Krystan's natural grandparents, so we settled on Aunt & Uncle.
Ken's daughter, Chelle, was telling me a recent story about him. One morning, he didn't know what to call this woman he found in his bed, so Chelle told him her name was Pat and she was his wife, so Ken made a little note and put it in his shirt's breast pocket. When Pat came down for breakfast, Ken said "Good morning, (pulls note from pocket & reads) Pat."
Thanks for the update! Sounds like a pretty cool trip so far even if parts of it have been overwhelming. :) I hope you guys are taking lots of pix and vids even if you havent been able to post anything yet. :)
I am so glad you guys were ok - the tornado thing was worrisome.
I have to say it was really great seeing Darren again and awesome meeting you. I really hope my kids didn't wear you out too much. I wanted them to spend as much time with Darren but didn't want to overwhelm you. The third is technically here but not yet. So yes I have 3 kids but just don't have her in my arms yet. Not sure if I am ready for that yet. Only about 6-8 weeks!!! YIKES. Ephraim said Darren promised to come to our house..... When was he planning that??? I didn't think you guys were coming through here. My house is a major disaster area right now with unpacking the car last night and going right to bed. So if you are coming on your way to Owen's I really HOPE you call with at least 2 hours notice. LOL. LOL. LOL. If you meant sometime later on after you get to Oregon that's totally fine. I know you guys will be back for visits. As far as having the party in the yard I told mom that might be a little much for you. But she said it was OK. So I am sorry that it was overwhelming. Well i better go so that this doesn't get

I remember St. Louis pretty fondly, even though we were in the shmaltzy section by the arch. Seemed pretty spread out. Finally I knew what it must be like for tourists in Orlando: "Are we downtown now? This place with all the faux-New Orleans restaurants? Or is that further up the interstate?"
