One of the things I like best about kitsune is the sort of subtle genderplay that's hinted at in a lot of the mythos. Gender being, of course, one of the most fun modern playgrounds for tricksterhood... *g*

If they're not going to render the ice shelves and sea ice on the map, then why bother making the whole continent white and snow colored? It's about as sensible as color-coding different altitudes for the whole sea/forest/mountain effect that's never actually applicable.
Although, seeing a temperately-colored Antarctica would bug me too.
Let's just terminate Antarctica with extreme prejudice.
