After much thought, "Half Blood Prince" is a mediocre movie

I was/am totally UNDERWHELMED by the flick. Maybe I was expecting too much, which is also a possibility. But the book was so rich and the movie didn't even touch the surface about Voldemort's background or even note how many murders he had already racked up by the time he was a Hogwarts senior (as in, by that time, he had killed at least three ( Read more... )

As soon as the movie was over there was lukewarm applause and as people were filing out of theater you could hear complaints. I overheard one man argue, "Well, I never read any of the books and I thought it was a good movie."

I think that sums it up --- if you haven't read any of the books you'll think the movie was swell.
