Now before I go any further let me assure you I have professional grade UPS protection on all my computers, etc. The computer in question has a 4 battery UPS. The Linux box my main server which was my whole networks everything, DHCP, DNS, firewall/router, etc died. There was a power outage for maybe 20 - 30 minutes and the machines on the ( Read more... )

Now he's got an awesome new server on the way. Although it's gonna be some work putting it together, I think he's gonna be happy with the end result.

Well thanks for the concern. And she is right, I have new server hardware on the way. The Linux box has always been tossed together of space parts, and now it will be new beefy hardware. It's going to have 2, 300 GB RAID 1 drives. That way if 1 fails the other is good, and I just go get another to replace the dead one, and it replicates. So much better.
