I can't figure out where I am supposed to comment. Is it here? I'm sorry, I'm pretty dense. I hate these best of a certain time period things cause I have like no ability to remember what came out when. If it came out longer than a week ago I have like, zero clue. I have tried though and here is what I have come up with.

1. The Mountain Goats - The Life of the World to Come
2. Neko Case - Middle Cyclone
3. Morrisey - Years of Refusal
4. The Decemberists - Hazards of Love

Those are all I can think of. The sad truth is there was no one album this year that blew me away. I think the best thing that came out was the remasters of the Beatles albums. Over all I didn't consider this that strong a year for music.

I'll have more indepth, but I think it was the year of a rebirth of disco to an extend. so many albums came out that had a very dance-techno thing going on from Animal Collective to YYYs to a bunch of new bands like Passion Pit and Phoenix and even a few old timers like Flaming Lips took chances with their work. It seemed to be trying to be more hopeful, i guess since most of the music was made during 2008, with the word "change" being thrown around for everyone, it seemed that's what people wanted, adverse to the bleak and deary music they came out with last year, but again, I enjoy my drear, as you know.

Gosh, I sounded like someone off of NPR. hehe. But yeah, I enjoyed quite a bit of music, but the only album that kinda stayed with me all year was Hazards of Love. I wore my copy out. Like I play it at least twice a week. So lovely. Perfect escape to when I needed one. :D
