View Pictures, Reacts, and Quotations - New Features of LJ

Dear Friends,

Friday is a good time for some great news - in fact, we have three of them! From now on you can view big-size photos closer, put the reaction not only on an entry or a comment but on pictures in the entries too! And the cherry on this cake is - quotations of entries. Now you can quote any phrase you like from the entry in the comments

Please PLEASE let me know when the announcement will be that you'll fix/bring back our friends pages as a functional working page that we can use to view friends posts!!!! THAT is what LJ has always been about for me.
This is way more important than something I've been able to do with ctrl c and ctrl v for years!

You can't see your friends' entries on one page any more? I can ... maybe because I didn't change my style when they were hassling me to?

I have queries LJ on this and they confirmed. I can only see back two weeks and there's no "previous" button. If your friends post constantly and you have a lot of friends you won't see a problem. My friends post once every month or so, so I will get one post periodically and no way to access previous posts unless I go to their individual journals which is a pain to do, especially when I have paid for this service and they used to have a "previous" button that made it easy to do.

Huh - I hadn't noticed that! I still have a "previous 20 entries" for a few pages; it goes back to 27th October at the moment - "skip 180" at the top bar. So if I go on holiday, and people go crazy, I will miss stuff. AAF - ie. Annoying As Facebook.

Would you please make it so photos aren't so hard to upload. It's nearly impossible now.

Agreed. I want to be able to upload my photos directly to the Scrapbook, which is pretty bloody basic and obvious after all. I would also like the comments on my posts to display on my journal page, as they did originally, instead of being taken to another page to view them. Why do they keep making everything more complicated and changing things that worked perfectly well? No wonder LiveJournal is almost entirely dead.

Also, why can't we have a simple, straightforward page layout with customisable font and colours, like the old Punquin Elegant? I hate those gimmicky preformatted layouts, which are the reason I refuse to change to a new layout.

I like this. It's not revolutionary, but makes things a bit more convenient.
Although I have to say it would be great if more basic things that have been broken for years could be fixed before introducing new stuff.

Would it maybe be possible for you to provide the userbase with a checklist of things you're planning on fixing/introducing next and - at least to a certain degree - allow us to choose which of those we'd prefer to be implemented?
I'm pretty sure people would be quite motivated to take part in surveys like this and the feedback you'd get would be much more positive.
