I've been around for 23 of those 24 years ... needless to say, there have been HUGE changes over that time!
I was one of the dozens who came over with Ana Voog in the way back when, and used to be back-and-forth with folks all day on LJ. Of course, things changed, friends left, and it got quiet here ... and I was ghosting for quite a while as well. Then, a few years back, I tried to make myself post on a daily basis ("journaling", I suppose), which eventually morphed into the "meme of the day" content I've had of late.
I do miss "the old gang" from the early 2000's, but "life is change, how it differs from the rocks" and all that.
Eh, things do change indeed! Dunno, maybe it's the nature of the Internet (how it became more, err, image-oriented). People now find it easier to communicate with videos and pictures, and long thoughtful reading is not that trendy... Though I might say it was never that trendy to begin with. Just back in the day when Internet population was much smaller it mostly consisted of those who loves reading and writing. And that's the audience we cherish :)

Such a shame that I won't be able to keep supporting LJ with my paid journal as my bank does not allow me to make payments in rubles, of course.
