Happy Birthday. Been here for 10 years even though I am on my second account on here and deleted the first one. I miss the days when people would actually write, read, and leave comments. It was such a fun time but people have changed so much. Now they think it is too much work to read a post and that is sad. I still find it so much fun. It is also almost impossible to find friends you might have something in common with. Having said all of that...I am still here and I am not planning on leaving. Happy birthday and thanks for staying around!
For the biggest part of the history of our civilization, reading and writing have remained a pleasure for the few. I hope one day kids will boast to each other how many books they've read, but this day is yet to come :)
Happy birthday, LJ! In 2011 you were my intro to fandom online community - I actually count my LJ anniversary as being also my "fanniversary". When I joined LJ it was so central to fandom connections that when I attended fancons the fen would ask each other "what's your LJ name". The proliferation in recent years of ever-increasing numbers of social media platforms has divided and scattered fandom, plus fewer fen seem to want to engage in the reading and writing of "true" journal-keeping and the dialogue style of threaded comments that I and the others still here on LJ want for our fannish experience. As long as LJ is still here I'll stil be on LJ.
Nowadays most of these have moved to websites dedictaed solely to fan fiction... And some of these websites are now offering blogging services. History is repeating itself XD
Happy Birthday!! I've been here for close to 21 of your 24 years! This place has changed a lot, and someday, I hope it gets as active again as it once used to be!

I've "only" been around here since 2005, but wow, so many changes and twists and turns. Crazy!
