Sorry, but I'm a 'Keeper'. I still have the out LJ design and style. And I'm not giving it up.

I have, however, given up my quill pen, have a Kindle and do use electric light *g*

Me too. However, the 'post new entry' site updated itself - and it's driving me crazy. Plus that journal entry now no longer uses by default theme but instead what I assume is this AIR thing. I wanna be a keeper 100% and this is frustrating as hell.

I'm glad I'm alone in this. A friend of mine told me about the 'post new entry' page being updated and she hates it. I rarely, if ever, use LJ to post. I've always used a Client - Semagic. I confess I don't even know what this AIR thing is. It means nothing to me. *Looks sheepish* I can understand your frustration.

Your friend can untick the editor box and use the old one :)

I'm glad someone finally posted how to switch to the modern theme (AIR), because it's really hard to find if you didn't already know what it was called. Updated now! I don't know if i will ever switch to the modern editor, though. I like how the old one in HTML mode lets me write plain text and only add styling exactly where i want it, which in most posts is not at all. I wish the comments box was still like that.

The new editor doesn't overburden the text with visuals either. Anyway, it's great that you enjoy the original one :)

I loathe everything about the new style and if I'm ever forced to change, I'll leave LJ for good. The new style is simply not workable for my style of writing, and I will forever defend my right to stick with the old style. I don't sit writing with a quill by candlelight, I write exclusively on my computer, but LJ should understand that 'new' does not necessarily mean 'better'. I have a friends page, not a feed, and a journal that I don't refer to as a blog. I joined LJ back when it was a journalling community, I liked it because it wasn't like facebook, or any of the more recent social media sites. It saddens me that something that used to be so different is now trying to be like every other social media platform.

I honestly can't stand the new layout design or the new editor, so a hard pass. But thanks for offering.

You can always disable the new editor by unticking the box.

Yes. I do it every single comment. It's infuriating that it won't just stay off. :)
