Hwegh

The mayhem from the two stupidest houses in the school is once again upon us. Not that I'm saying Gryffindors and Slytherins are stupid individually, or that I'm more intelligent than they are simply by virtue of being a Ravenclaw. Though technically Ravenclaw is the most intelligent house in the school as a collective, in the same way Gryffindor ( Read more... )

You sound suspiciously chipper.

Once again, I think the Bat Bogey Hex cropped up from one of those blasted fourth years. I am brought back to my age old question of recent: What is with fourth years?!

They get up to everything the little kids do and everything us big kids do.

Why suspiciously?

Ah, so the theory is, that is the merging year, between childish-childish and we're-pretending-we're-not-but-we-really-are-childish-childish?

Private to Fawcett

Aren't you supposed to be moping about Stebbins. Given recent events, suspiciously, sunshine.

Puberty has ruined many a good first year before.

Private to JD: Oh, not so much. Given recent events.

Tell me about it. What's the count on your end of fights broken up and detentions given?

Only the one snog, but I'm working on it. Fourteen since Tuesday, with another six which may be attributed to it, cause verification pending. The others were definitely about Quidditch. You?

Two fights, one in which wands were drawn, and four detentions. The amount of point deduction thus far from my end has been equal for both houses.

I'm probably veering more towards the Gryffindors. Perhaps Slytherins are just better at not getting caught.

Make that fifteen. I just had word that the hissy fit between Parkinson and Pink Patil was indeed at least partially about Quidditch. Parvati seems like she's smarter than we think she is (you know the type?), but I didn't know Parkinson even knew how to tell one end of a broom apart from the other.

I wish I had come up with the term "Grudge Match Central" - I never saw anything more appropriate to define this.

Private to Fawcett: How are you today?

There's always An Entire Year's Worth Of Idiocy Nicely And Conveniently Confined To The Two Weeks Leading Up To The Most Overrated Match Of The Season, but that's a bit long-winded.

Private to Stebbins: I'm very well, thank you. Still unable to come up with a conclusive decision on whether Jaffa Cakes are biscuits or indeed cakes though. Yourself?

Yeah, too long. Battle of the Brainless could also work especially for the Gryffindor part, what with Weasley and Johnson.

Private to Fawcett: Very well too, thank you. And I still think of them as cakes, though I'm open to other opinions.

It would, but there happen to be a few intelligent and reasonably sensible people on those teams, like Pucey and Spinnet. And Montague doesn't seem anywhere near as bonkers as Flint did. Though there was that thing with him and Natalie...

Private to Stebbins: I think my experience with them proved inconclusive. That, or I need a second opinion.

When you say 'attempt' the bat bogey hex... what happens if it goes wrong?

newt_fawcett October 26 2007, 10:51:01 UTC
I get hit by it in the face instead. It's not pretty.

I thought that's what happens when it goes right.

Well, this particular one was a very well-cast Bat Bogey Hex. I should know. It was the aim that was off. It just happened to hit the wrong person. Me.
