Right, so yesterday, after watching coming back from the library, I had an unfortunate run in with sweet-old Mrs. Norris - who, of course, telepathically called Filch to the crime scene wherein I wasn't actually doing anything wrong. I mean, besides pointing a wand downwards (I'd dropped a hairpin and it fell behind one of those statues, so it was ( Read more... )

Oh, I know what you mean about odd cats. I think Radar's getting sick. He doesn't follow me around so much or anticipate my every movement anymore. Oh no. I am not going to make sociable small talk with you. I have little enough of that to use up on people Stebbins didn't take to the - people I like.

Well, the rule about no magic in the halls has only been in place since your first year.

But surely Lumos doesn't count?! I mean, I wasn't using it ON anyone, it was only to find a bloody hairpin.

It was magic. It was in the hallway. Ergo logically it was magic in the hallway. Alright, so I conclude that's a little too pedantic. But not where anyone can see it.

You're not a very understanding Head Girl. ... Of course.

Okay, I understand the importance of this rule - but dentention just for using Lumos?
And I wouldn't be in the least surprised if the trophies did multiply. It might be a trick used to make the punishment longer.

Yes, you would defend her.

I'm not defending her. I think taking points would be a better punishment for casting Lumos, regardless of the person who cast it. Detention would make more sense with other type of spells.

I don't really understand what you have against Lucy, and why you're so snippy about me agreeing with her. Would you be saying "Yes, you would defend him" with that tone if the incident had been with, say, Barney?

When Barney loses his hairpins behind a statue, I'll get back to you.

Bad luck, Lucy. It seems quite harsh a punishment for a minor offence, but that's Filch for you.

King Arthur was licking my foot earlier. Why do cats do that? I'm sure he's fine, maybe he's just missed Hogwarts like the rest of us. Or maybe it's the weather or something. I think you only really need to worry if he starts eating less.

Yeah, it's funny how such a big space can get claustrophobic. I was thinking that the other day. Like, I love going on walks round the grounds, but even as extensive as they are, I'm looking forward to walking down to Hogsmeade. It'll be a nice change. I hope I'll see you in the Three Broomsticks at some point?

If only Mrs. Norris hadn't sat under the light. Why did she sit under the light? I hate that goddamned cat! Can cats be sadistic? I think Mrs. Norris is just plain sadistic.

He was? I'd say he were being traitorous again - but you're a friend of mine. I don't really know. Perhaps he wanted food. Did you give him any?

But King eats so much food as it is! Silly glutton, honestly.

Oh, but of course! Anyway, I think I managed to convince Chris to have a few drinks in celebration of his birthday on Saturday, as he is so deadset against a party.

She has an instinct for noticing rule-breaking. I wonder if Filch teaches her or if she just, you know, knows. It's quite spooky really. And yes, possibly sadistic. I'm generally very fond of animals, but she does freak me out a little bit.

No, I didn't have food, I just scratched his head and he wandered off. He's not the first cat to have done it - I wonder if my feet just taste really nice or something? They weren't dirty or anything! I always shower after exercising, which is usually several times a day, so I wouldn't think they would smell particularly either.

Hurrah! Drinks all round! Well done, Lucy.

A party? Not in our Common Room, right?

Oh, now, that really is unfair. For Lumos? Detention? The most you should have got was lines, and even so, it was not an offensive spell.

He gave you a detention for THAT?! That's ridiculous, I'm sorry Lu.

As for King Arthur, just be glad he hasn't taken to destroying your belongings like some monsters I could mention.

What does he get out of being so mean, anyway? Cranky sod.

Oh no! What's Merlin done now?

I don't know. Sadists don't usually need a reason as far as I can tell.

He somehow managed to knock down one of my old sketchbooks today and started ripping at it. I suppose it's good it was an old one, but couldn't he think of other ways to entertain himself?
