The letter was read, I cannot believe what a childish act it was. Can you honestly not see how terribly offensive such a letter could have been, no matter what may have happened? They told me all about the letter, and I replied that it must have been an impetuous act. Surely you must have realized later that it was simply a silly and immature thing to do. I have to say that I thought better of both you and Cheryl. I hope I was not wrong to defend your actions, because it seems I was the only one who thought your letter to be simply an ill-considered course of action, not a true manifestation of who you are. Furthermore they have said over and over that they did not intend insult in anyway by leaving at the end of the night as opposed to after breakfast. It really is not my business; it is between the five of you; however it would be sad indeed to see friendships ruined over such a foolish situation.
