New sounds, new trauma
Constantine may have colic. He was pretty pissy for about 90 mins yeaterday and then full on unconsolable for over 3 hours today. He would quiet a bit and then his kness would come to his chest a sure sign we have learnt of intestinal distress with the arms out and elbows fixed at 90 degrees. Its ok to be excited now
Maria has been having contractions all day. We went to the hospital at about 11pm last night and she was 1cm dilated. Now contractions are coming and very strong so her mum's currently on hand holding duty, I'm making us some quick pasta and then its off to the hospital.
Next time you read this post it will hopefully have a picture of a baby! -
Labour takes a very long time
Well, we hope its labour. M. has been having pains since 3pm yesterday. We got quite excited and then quite bored and then quite sleepy. In expectation we didn't go to bed until 2am, watching our way through Dr Who, CSI, Miami Vice and Fist of Legend. Well I did. Maria fell asleep for Miami Vice, not sure how. Baby today? No? Baby tomorrow?
Well today is the due date but Spawn of Sweebs seems quite cosily ensconced. We spent an hour in a very hot doctor's room high up over London while he looked at charts, talked to the obstetrician and M. underwent a medical examination whose conclusion was unfavourable in the medical dialect (i.e cervix locked tight). In theory I'm in charge
Well as the CEO is away this means I think that the buck stops with me for the next two weeks. Which would be less scary if I wasn't also going away ina couple of days for a long weekend and if the people organising the major festival in September weren't also on holiday in what is quite a feat of bad planning.
Its still quite scary though.

Moving house on Wednesday and no where near as packed as we should be. Made a good effort on Saturday and got all the books, some clothes, the DVDs and the CD's done. Plus the fragile stuff. Taken from the start of the Front Line Assembly gig Maria and I went to see last night. FLA twice in a year makes it a pretty good year. Listening to them again reminded me firstly how much of the stuff I still have on tape and haven't got round to converting despite promising myself to do so last year and secondly how kick ass they are. even ( Read more... ) -
End of Day Two
Well I've managed to sort out a few things, like organise my bookmarks and install IE7. I'm a bit trepidatious about installing Firefox as I don't quite know what the internet policy is. My suspicion is they don't have one.
