Eurovision 2010

Despite the fact that heavy metal is my love, I'm going to tell you about my guilty musical pleasure. It's like chocolate ice-cream with fudge and sprinkles. It's like a book that you know has absolutely no literary merit, yet you can't put down.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me present to you: Eurovision!

For those of you who haven't heard of it, ( Read more... )

Eurovision! I wish I could watch that too, but I have no idea when it's on, and I'm also not sure if they even show it in the US... >_

I generally just watch it on YouTube, because it's definitely not on TV in Canada either... :(

If you want to watch Eurovision, this link may be worth a shot, it's Norway's national TV broadcaster and it's free and I think non-Norwegians can watch. Not sure, though! Of course, the commentary will be in Norwegian... but the hosts will always speak their broken English!

I love Iceland! Not sure if they can afford it/have a big enough arena if they won, though. Hosting the ESC this year costs so much for Norway that they don't have the money to show the Football Championship. Oops. To the great annoyance of many!

Also, ESC is the best! It's so fun to sit with your scoreboards and rate every song, I usually make up many categories, such as how much power it is in the song's modulation, ethnicity, costumes, how many times they change dresses during the song, sexy dancers et cetera :P

Thanks for posting the link :) It definitely works for non-Norwegians, so I'll be able to watch Eurovision live, instead of waiting for the videos to appear on Youtube, which is going to be awesome.

Looking at the entries this year, I didn't see too many numbers with interesting costumes, or an ethnic feel. For some reason, more people seem to be singing in English. Not too many back-up dancers either...:( Oh well, it will probably get more interesting during the actual contest.

I love Iceland too, but hosting the contest there would be difficult, even in terms of travel for some performers. Maybe they'll get second or third place instead.
