Inactivity has made me curious, so I have a question for those who live here:

Are there many types of sentient beings on your respective worlds? What are they like, and how do you handle the differences between your species?

[For the residents of House 50 (and closeby neighbours) you might hear a bit of a racket going on in the barn. Nanaki's ( Read more... )

[Right, manners. Coughs once and smiles]

As far as my world goes, there are only one group of sentient animals, humans. And quite frankly, even when we're all one species, we find enough reasons to 'cause trouble.

[Oh good, it speaks.]

'We'? You're a very unusual-looking human.

[Oh, hi Cloud.]

...I thought I would take a break from the cold for a little while, but your chocobo doesn't seem to approve.

You'll probably get more peace if you come inside the house.

Oh, totally! There are loads of different Mobians, not to mention humans and some other creatures around.

As for differences, well... I think the only real problemo is Robuttnik turnin' everyone into Robot cronies.

Mobians and robots? Do you think you could elaborate on those?

Mobians are... well, just about any species. I mean, I'm a hedgehog, Sal's a squirrel, Dulce is a dragon-- there's not just one kinda Mobian.

As for robots... What you see is what you get. Cold, metal, the works! 'Buttnik's got loads of different types, but most of 'em are these things called SWATbots. They're tall, ugly, and wind up doing most of his dirty work, like driving around hover units to keep an eye on Robotropolis. Then you've got 'bots that used to be Mobians until he turned 'em into machines with the Roboticizer. Makes 'em lose their free will and everything, but if they try hard enough they can fight back!

'course, it's not as big of a problem with Robuttnik outta the way.

...'Robuttnick'? [What sort of a name is that.]

This is an interesting question! I'm curious to see what others have to say.

There are a few different types, yes; humans, Eidolons, dwarves, hummingway and Lunarians. The latter two largely exist on the Red Moon, but they have a representation in the world below. The dwarves and Eidolons are largely isolated in the Underworld. The Eidolons don't welcome most into their realm, but they do have a close bond with my people, summoners.

Summoners? I'm familiar with summon creatures, but there's no specific type of person who can use them on my world.

Really? So anyone can summon them? Don't they need training?

Anyone who finds the right materia for it, yes.

Would that be intended as "world" singular or "worlds" plural?

Considering the mixed situation we're in here, I suppose it wouldn't make much sense to exclude multiple worlds.

Heh. Good choice.

Aaaaaanyway, it generally depends by world. Most of 'em have humans and not much more, but you get to the more unusual ones and you start getting less normal. Let's see: sentient lions, talking animals, mermaids, sentient objects, cursed zombies, a Heartless, some Nobodies...

So you have the ability to travel to many different worlds, then?
