Here are the specs on my new camera. One of the coolest things is that because it's just a digital version of the 35mm I have had and loved for years, all of the equipment (lenses, etc.) are interchangeable. I love playing around with photography and it was a hobby of mine for years. I can't wait to get started with it again!

Nice!!! I didn't know you were into photography. I love digital 35mm and the way they interchange with regular 35mm.

I have a Nikon D-70. I have had it for a few years (it was the new hot shit when I bought it) and I barely use it. I started using it again for my florida class and think I am gonna make a point to actually figure out how to use it again this fall. LOL

I love photography - it's my one artistic talent. It's such a great way to interact with your environment. I more or less gave it up when I was out of college because I lost my access to a dark room (this was a long time ago - before the digital revolution!). I kept it up a bit, but *paying* to get film developed was expensive and annoying.

Once the amateur digital cameras got good enough (and inexpensive enough) that I thought I could enjoy digital as much as traditional photography I promised myself I would get one. I kept putting it off until I pretty much just stopped taking photos all together (even just for fun).

I was thinking about taking my dogs in to get professional photos done and realized that I could do just as well on my own with a halfway decent camera. So rather than spend the money on pictures, I spent more on a camera! It really did make sense when I was thinking about it...

I am thinking of setting up a photography philter to exclusively discuss technical camera geekery and post pics, etc. Since people seem interested, maybe I should....
