What to say to Science

Jul 08, 2010 00:58

The Muir Russell review has been published. It describes my evidence (drafted here) as "very helpful and illustrative".

Now a reporter from Science magazine wants to interview me about CCC. What should I say to him?

Make all your points! Of course your evidence is helpful and illustrative. Get as many people on board as possible! Go Nick!!!

What the problem was, how you thought up CCC to address it, pitfalls and problems along the way, how CCC is working now, how it is standing up to the task.

Try and find out what his constraints are - what kind of article is he writing and how many words are allocated. Then consider how to get one message clearly articulated within those constraints.

Convey your passion about how open data is not enough and how you'd like to see and help to foster a culture of open data and code in the publication of research.
