I'm assuming you've heard about the BRAT diet?

Bananas, rice, aples, toast (and sometimes people say tea and yogurt). Some people think it work, some people don't. check wikipedia.

The two other suggestions I have are ginger tea and vitamin B6. Get fresh ginger, slice it into 5-6 coins, but 1-2 cups of water on the stove and boil the ginger for a few minutes. Strain it and drink, you can also add sugar and soymilk (heh heh heh) to make it awesometasting.

Vitamin B6 is commonly prescribed to women who have morning sickness. When I was on birth control the stuff used to make me sick, and the doctor guessed that it was because BC makes your body think it's in the early stages of pregnancy... so therefore I might be experiencing something similar to morning sickness. It seemed to help, but as the causes of our nausea are totally different, I have no idea if it will work for you. It's cheap though, so you might as well try?

good luck. i hate hate hate feeling nauseous. it's the worst ever.

I knew, knew, KNEW I could count on you for good advice. I've thought about the BRAT diet, but definitely hadn't given thought to brewing my own ginger tea (I think I have loose leaf ginger & black tea around here packaged as a digestive aid, but making my own ginger stew concoction sounds lovely and fun) or B6.

Thanks, friend.

i'd stay away from the black tea due to the caffeine maybe? i don't know. let me know if anything works for you!

I like grape popsicles when I'm sick. While they don't really do a whole lot in terms of nourishing, they are mostly water (hydration!); they'll give you a bit of sugar which, after throwing up, your body probably needs; and, let's face it, they taste the same both ways so at least they're not gross to throw back up.

This is, of course, provided that you like grape popsicles. I hope you feel better soon, friend!

i don't have any great tips, but just don't let yourself get dehydrated. drink plenty of water (not dasani, aquafina, or any other distilled disaster of a product). i like evian.

it sounds like your symptoms have little to nothing to do with food. you need to relax and de-stress yourself in any way that works best. you know i'm not crazy-hippie-guru-granola, but try meditating. 10 minutes a day. it helps. or maybe some sort of outlet. i really like crying over sappy awful movies.

just remember that you're wonderful and capable of SO many amazing things. you have NOTHing holding you back right now. revel in it.

i love you.

i'm a fan of mashed potatoes and ginger ale. it could just be a me thing, but i like having starchy things when my stomach is not being friends with me. it seems to settle my stomach - i've never been able to figure out which fruits and veggies would do the same - i always manage to pick the ones that are difficult to digest.

but i hope this gets better soon! much love.
