I just typed the word "elefant," thinking that it looked correct.

I also tried to write "feer" instead of "fear."

Pre-Spain, I could actually spell, I swear.

It's so funny that you said that...

A few months ago in the Infantil school, we were playing a game and needed to make team names based on animals, in English. So the teacher that I work with wrote "Elephant" on the board.

No joke, I went up there, erased the "ph" and wrote an "f" instead. It just looked so....wrong to me!

She looked at me and was like, "Are you sure? With an F?" And I said "of course" So she goes, "oh, well, I think then that they spell it with the "ph" in England"

Five minutes later, I was like "WTF am I doing???" and changed it to the "ph"

At least you weren't an English major...this is so embarrasing!!

THAT's why the problem felt so familiar. I remember you telling me that story! elephant looks so funny! Telephone is ok...but elephant. Weird!

At least when we communicate with each other we'll understand!
My new excuse is, "I didn't study English!"
