Today was my last day at Eldorado Stone. It's okay that I've left, I guess. But I'm annoyed at the timing. I really didn't want to be let go over a month before the wedding day. Ewww, you're in a tight spot. Well, I do have a hopeful story for you: somebody I know got laid off right before a major trip (like, the kind that was planned with the whole extended family more than a year ahead). People totally understood, and his new job let him go on vacation exactly as planned ( ... )

Thanks Aim! I did actually get my resume dusted off so I'll probably reactivate my Monster account next week after visiting folks in Oregon. And thanks for the encouragement! I really need that right now or else I'll end up needing to go to my old counselor on a very regular basis until the wedding!

That really sucks!

Though, you might also be able to draw unemployment from the state until you can get a new job. It's not that much, but it's a nice safety net when you lose your job. Otherwise, my advice is the same as Amy's. Some places around here take up to six months after the initial interview to hire someone.
