Hey... welcome to life behind a computer! ;P

More seriously, try switching your mouse to your left hand. It feels funny at first but it's easy to get used to. Secondly, if you've got your keyboard propped up with those little thingies on the bottom, lay it down! The angle is unnatural. Keep your wrists horizontal to the table and ground at all times. There are also some little exercises you can do periodically to take some of the stress off your wrists and fingers. I recommend you do something now before surgery is necessary. Said with a smile... but I'm serious all the same.

If you figure out something for the shoulders, let me know! :D Anyway, sounds like it's either stress, posture, or some combination of the two. I know I unconsciously tense my shoulders 90% of the time. Booksack straps can be adjusted, and being A WOMAN, keep in mind how your body has this lovely design for carrying weight in front or on the side of your hip. I used to chill carrying my bag in front all the time. Or get one of those bags that crosses your chest ( ... )

Yeah - I have a sneaking suspicion several things are factoring into this, mostly related to poor posture ( ... )

You might consider reading one of John Sarno's books about pain.

What does he say, in general? That sounds like a good thing to do over the summer - thanks for the rec. :-)

He says that good people sometimes develop chronic pain syndromes, but you can shoo them away with mental prophylaxis. If you know what mechanism causes the pain reaction to arise, you can undo it.

Ooh! That sounds really good! Does it work on day-to-day little pains?
