I suppose another factor is that I'm in Greensboro right now, and in order to vote I'll have to drive 50 minutes back to Franklinville. Do I really want to drive that far, and back afterward, to just write someone in?

Personally, I didn't LOVE Obama, or HATE McCain... I typically vote democrat, and lean far to the left, but I was having my doubts as Hillary was my candidate of choice, and Edwards before that...

BUT, Palin secured my vote for the democrats. Do I think McCain would be worse than Bush? Not really... I think he'd be along the same strain, and wouldn't fix anything, but I don't think he'd be worse. HOWEVER, if something were to happen to McCain, and Palin were president... I'm fairly convinced we'd be fucked. At least Biden isn't completely nuts and clueless...

Plus, it's not just the president you vote for, there are a bunch of bills and stuff that went onto the ballot that I wanted to vote for as well...

I don't know if that was motivational or helpful. But it was my two cents.

Seconding the fear of Palin. Also, the main reasons that most of the big-name Republicans cited when they switched teams to endorse Obama were a) McCain's erratic and constantly-changing responses to the economic crisis of October and b) Palin.

To me, that says a lot.
