Update on the Way
I certainly have been lax in my Artist's Way efforts! Not only have I skipped two weeks of morning pages, but I also failed quite miserably in the "no reading" policy of this period. But I'm dusting myself off and stiffly approaching the proverbial horse once again, ready to mount up.

Another week of writing
Is another week already passed, and another new seven-day span already arrived? These last days felt so full, and flew so quickly. I'm grateful -- to be working, to feel purposeful, to not feel so afraid of the free moments because when life is busy I actually need some downtime -- but my writing, and my commitment to the daily business of it has ( Read more... ) -
Starting out
What a day! It's been a long one. Up at 4:30 AM, ran 5k at the gym then spent another 30 minutes on the elliptical before weight lifting for about another 30 minutes. Then home again, showered, ate breakfast. I holed up in a cafe for an hour to begin -- drum roll, if you please! -- Day One of my adventure into Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way. ( Read more... ) -

Victory, that is. I can just about taste it. Less than 2,700 words to go!
Of course, then I'll have to finish writing the story... -
The final big marker -- passed!
I just passed the 40,000 word mark on my NaNo novel!! I am very psyched about this. It is (I hope) downhill from here, which is good news since I'm about 2,000 words behind where I ought to be. Although as a fun bonus, the NaNo validator added about 100 words to my count.

Getting close
I just realized...less than 17,000 words to write in order to "win" this year's NaNoWriMo!
Hrm...
Okay, that doesn't read quite as encouraging as the fact sounded inside my head. But when I consider that I'm over half-way to the finish line, that I've written almost 34,000 brand new words, that I'm in the home stretch...well, that makes me smile.
