i think its really great you are choosing to spend your time teaching. what a wonderful gift to give to the next generation. do you get excited and enthused sometimes when you see a student really getting the concepts you are teaching or a student who is eager to learn?

I guess, especially the latter. Of course in today's classroom you have to deal with the kid that doesn't speak a lick of English, the ADHD kid, the inclusion kids that don't belong there, as well as rest of the class, so sometimes it seems like I'm just running herd on them, not teaching. When I do, it's enjoyable, though. Some of the best days I've had was during a particular class where they listen to what I'm teaching, and we had a great discussion about something. I'm still glad I don't have any of my own though... ;)

me too. glad i don't have any i mean. its fun to have them to teach and spend time with and spoil rotten, but even better to have someone to pass them off to when they get whiny and grumpy.

i've enjoyed getting back into teaching a bit by working with kids on reading during my lunch hour on tuesday. its been really rewarding.

its too bad you're not a christian yet or i could point you to the multiple places in scripture where god announces how valuable we are and how he has special plans for all of us. its so exciting for me to watch my life unfold and wonder whats going to happen next.

Bummer about the wallet :( Hopefully it will turn up, intact.

At this point I'm doubting it will, but thanks for the thought...

*hug* I hope your wallet comes home full of whatever was in it.

And... a gym teacher giving out pizza seems weird. It's awesome that she saw fit to reward the kids, but I'd figure a gym teacher would feed them a healthier, gym teacher-type snack. I base this on having had a wonderful German teacher who gave extra credit for bringing German desserts to class each Friday (there was a catch, however; she supplied the recipe in German, which had to be translated into English along with all the metric conversions to English measures.)
