This love in particular is massacre like.
Love is when you care deeply for someone.
In this story, The man cares so deeply about mankind, he wants it to be perfect, rid of hatred. Humans cannot live without hatred, without sin, not since adam and eve disobeyed GOD in Genesis.

ok i probably sound like a retard but that's ok. why did god wait for the 14th? i'm sure it's obvious but i guess i just can't see it

it's not god... just the star. It's on febuary 14th, valentine's day... The day that's supposed to celebrate love. Irony?
