They shouldn't have to do surgery one your back. If they just now found out about you having scoliosis, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem for you in your life.

Thank you anyways but I'll leave the diagnosis to my doctor! I don't think I have it that bad, but I know I've had it for awhile. I've always have had back trouble, for YEARS. This is the first time I mentioned it to the doctor and the first time they checked it SINCE Middle School.

I didn't know that you'd had the problem for a while. But, if they had just now found out about it, then my above statement would be correct. And, although I didn't name your name directly, I asked Jess about it (who's had back problems a lot worse than that, and for a much longer time), and she confirmed what I said.

All I'm saying is that I'd rather you not make predictions or diagnosis to how servere of minor it is. It's scary to know that I have it. It's something that you live with your entire life! As time goes on it does get worst, sometimes even with the proper treatment. Just because your girlfriend has had problems with her back doesn't make her an expert on my problem. I respect your opinions but I don't need you telling me that it's not a big deal when it is. I'm going to the doctor to find out more, right now we hardly know anything, so it's way to early to make predictions. I really don't appreciate you belittling this and saying that what I JUST found out I had to be insignificant, it's very significant to me! I'm worried about it, and I don't care what other ailments your girlfriend's had SO don't compare her to me

Sarah- I don't think he was trying to downplay your misfortune or trying his luck at medicine, but rather attempting to comfort you or cheer you up. At least, that's how it appears. I think you just took it the wrong way, which is understandable.
