People wish to stay here? Hmm. It's a bit difficult for me to understand, but I loved my Tokyo. Some of these people were either dead, or hailed from a place that brightens this one by comparison. Others have bonded with people from other worlds and dimensions, people whom they may never see again, if we all return home.
Please remain safe if possible. Your metaphor resonates with me--we are in the eye of a storm.

I didn't even particularly love the place where I lived, but I'd still pick it over this place. I'd rather not have my life threatened every other day, thank you very much. I don't see what bond could be worth that.

I would return to my Tokyo in a heartbeat.
[Even if the end is near..]
Nevertheless, I understand the desire of others to remain in this place, as opposed to returning. Danger may be found everywhere. Murder, dark magic, ghosts, these are familiar sights to some of Discedo's inhabitants.
I shall attempt to remain safe as well!

That's what I'm hoping - that people would find a book about Discedo to be compelling. Original. And not, with any luck, second-rate science fiction. But you never know.
Familiar sights, maybe, but not things I have any strong desire to live with, myself.

Although, since I already know how it ends, the work is already done for me. Which makes it a little too easy, really....
