Zacharias, if you are sent away, be careful fetching the goblet and make sure to come back in one piece. Did they tell you what the barrier entailed? Is it a simple "You cannot pass" or a more dark "If you try to pass, horrible things will happen to you"? Couldn't you tell them "no" in the first place? Why does it have to be retrieved now and not after school lets out?

Beats me. I suppose the only way to find out is to go there in person and sort the incompetent morons out. I guess it's something valuable otherwise they wouldn't have bothered. They only know how to think in Galleons.

How do they know that only a Smith can get it if they have not tested it out? What if you go and pass the barrier only to be spat back out with boils? Or...or dragon pox...or some horrid disease that cripples you forever......

I think they already tried to get it and got rejected and assumed that only a Smith can go through. If not, I'll bloody well sure they go in before me. Whatever's in there will get them first, if something is at all.
