What do you do when you don't think you really belong anywhere?

I mean, I can't fight off bad people, so what else is there? Is going around cheering up people enough?

I guess I have a lot to think about.

serious business, an (almost) existential crisis?, questioning

It may not seem like much, but cheering people up is important. It gives others the strength to face all the bad that there is.

Well, yeah, I guess so, but it really doesn't seem important, not when you're looking at the whole picture, anyway.

Hey, I can't beat up the bad guys either. But I've still found somewhere to belong. You have a place, too.

But you could, if you had to. I don't know if I could do that, even though I'd want to, if it meant helping people.

I dunno, I'm not so sure about that...

You know, simply being around and supporting those who are important to you is a lot more powerful than you might think. I can't fight off bad people either, and nobody has ever acted like that's a bad thing.

So you don't ever feel like you're not as useful as everyone else?

Not everyone can fight, and not everyone should. Fighting is scary and sometimes people get hurt. But not being able to fight doesn't mean you don't have a place here, Promise. It just means your place is different.

I just haven't found that place yet, and I guess that's what's bothering me.

I wish I could tell you what it was but I don't know. Everyone is unique. Although, part of your place is to be with Derrick and help him out, right?

[After a loooong pause]

Do you want me to teach you some martial arts? For self-defense only, though! Having something to learn can help you focus, and that might help you feel better.

I can't fight either, but my big brothers can! There has to be something else you can do that they can't.

Probably... It's just figuring out what that is.

By the way, I don't think I've seen your writing before. I'm Promise.
