Copying Julie's great idea and spreading the love... Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love.
Oh, Ericka, you'll get (and you deserve!!!) a lot of love.
First, for being so supportive - throughout my experiences non only as a new mom, but as a Jewish Israeli woman living in the USA.
Second, for always having time to answer questions I have for you, despite your own busy schedule.
Third- have you seen the freakin' STD and wedding invites you made us?? HELLO?!?! Letterpress, much??
Fourth, but not least - for your continued inspiration as a wonderful mom, an amazing wife, and a supporting friend.
Ericka - you were the first person I reached out to when I found out I was pregnant, and your words of comfort were a ray of light for me during *REALLY* stressed out hours. THANK YOU for taking the time to figure out THREE different due date scenarios according to possible ovulation dates vs. period dates. THANK you for the early congratulations when I was freaking out and did not have health insurance. Just THANK YOU for being there.
you are so sweet. you know, in my exhausted hormonal state I temporarily forgot about you emailing me when you found out you were pg... I was SO honored to get that email, Noa, and so happy to help you from the start of your amazing journey through pregnancy and motherhood :)
hearing you describe your joy and sense of wonder at being Aviv's mommy always brings a tear of happiness to my eyes - hormones or not - you're a wonderful loving mother and I'm so glad to have you in my life :)
Ooooooh- KATE!! My daughter's birth date partner!! Although I am STILL shamelessly waiting for your birth re-cap (?????), I have to say that having you document your own experiences with Dylan have helped me grasp just what it is I am experiencing. You know, sometimes we get so entrapped in our subjective worlds that we rarely come up for air. When I read your -- very honest!!! -- very real !!!-- posts about how hard & frightening & overwhelming parenthood can be, I not only get a better sense of whats REALLY important when it comes to raising Aviv, but I also understand how important it is to listen to my own instincts. You're such an amazing, doting mom without even realizing it.... Dylan is an incredibly lucky boy to have you!!!
Julie, I love you. You truly keep it real at all times -- ass hanging out or not :). I'm a huge animal lover, and so are you. I love cooking (in theory!!) yet you are so good at actually *MAKING* it. Julie, you are a wonder to behold! Both of us have years of schooling behind us (you more than me ! But whatevers!) and we're trying to figure out what we want to do when we grow up, and I truly appreciate your candidness when dealing with the negativity of your career. You don't sugarcoat anything and say it as it is, which is so refreshing to me. Honestly, reading your posts is always something I look forward to - I think we would get along so well IRL... Too bad we live on opposite coasts!
Lex!!! Ooooh. First of all, you're AMAZING in "RL". Generous, and beautiful, and honest. I love how we always have a flowing conversation, and just how uncannily we have so many parallels in our lives. You're an inspiration as a mom and person, and I am only hopeful we get to spend more time together before you leave *SOB* because although you (we) both hate the East Coast, it seems like you will be escaping it much sooner than me. BOO! Anyways, there are a gazillion reasons why I like you. HUGS!!!
Alex -- I don't think I ever read ANY of your posts without a huge smile on my face. I look forward to your updates, your witty comments, your self-depreciating humor (how jewish of you!). You always seem to have the best celebrity encounters, the best living-overseas adventures (UMMM, GREECE?!?!) & the best husband-cooking-experiences (my DH thinks lean cuisine is cooking!).
Most of all, I love your honest intake of life, and look forward to getting seeing you grow as a mom... Can't wait to introduce our little ones to one another!!!
