when I got my teaching job in Florida, they ended up calling me based on a substitute application and I still had to pay the $30 application fee...from there, I had to pay $56 for my temporary certificate as well as $30 for a copy of my USF transcript. That was $116 for just 1 job. Granted, I had already been offered the job, but I still had to pay for all this stuff out of my pocket (or my dad's pocket, as it were) and I wouldn't be getting a paycheck for another 4 to 5 weeks. I found out about the credit union that was associated with the county, though. They offered short term loans for just hired teachers that they would approve at a super low interest rate and were the amount of what 1 of my paychecks would be. They then took out $50 per paycheck over the course of the school year to pay it back and it helped me out very much so. Anything like that up by you?
