I hate insurance of all kinds and make no apologies for it.

With no changes on our part (claims, stars, issues, whatever) the already high sums we pay on both house and bikes have increased. My bike insurance alone jumped by $240. The sad part is that after a week of calling around this is by far the lowest price available.

that increase also might align with the new reduction in (auto) insurances because the insurance companies lost so much money in the stock market last year.

Basically thats what they said. That all their rates were going up across the board.

Good idea. Didn't work out though. They don't do bikes without a car and the house insurance was more than what I'm now paying.

Rates go up for anything you do wrong and on general principal. This was the latter.

I have only had my insurance rate go down on very rare, specific occasions.

Generally, it just doesn't go up as much, the longer you've been doing X.
