Sadly it's still not time to replace them. Worded more properly: they will not be replaced yet though they required replacing many years ago.

This weekend we went down to our dank, dark, half-deconstructed basement which becomes freezing cold in the winter and we put up some window shrink wrap across all three. Immediately better. Last weekend we ( Read more... )

You're fantastic. Also:

Funny thing is I've put more hours in on windows than mac and I even first learned simple navigation in DOS. As I never liked mac os6-9 I didn't buy my own (non family) mac until 10.1. Before that it was win98 then winXP (which I still use regularly today).

Ugggg I hate dealing with windows... Even washing windows I hate :P Let it be said, a squeegee is well worth the investment for cleaning windows!!

I am really annoyed though because I cannot clean the outside of my bedroom windows, and they need it!

When I had the condo my windows always seemed dirty. Don't clean your own windows until the building does the inaccessible ones. Otherwise there is a drastic difference in clean!

Oh boo about the broken windows.

And replacing or dealing with windows in general.

Hm, do folks still get a tax break when replacing the windows in their house? I seem to remember a number of folks getting to claim that on their taxes, as a 'reduction of energy consumption' thing.

When we had the high efficiency furnace and attic insulation installed we did an audit for cash. Windows add very little in terms of R value to a home so you don't get much for them. For us the big stuff/reasons would be looks, light, and drafts. Government doesn't pay for that stuff, heh.

Too bad we can't justify 8-14k on those wants just now. Ghetto broken glass plastic wrap home woo!
