Yes, you CAN drink on a golf course. And believe it or not, people tend to get pretty toasted.

I used to think golf was an "Old Man's Sport." I've gained a lot of respect for it. A ton of guys at the office play it, and of course when we go on business trips usually our managers face off against the client managers if there's time. ;-)

If anyone else honestly wanted to give it a shot, I'd be all for it. I've played a couple times in the past, and, well, I'm sure we'd be pretty embarassing for quite awhile, but I think we'd enjoy it. /shrug Maybe try putt-putt and a driving range for awhile first. ;)

WAIT A MINUTE.

Check..... THE BOOK. Is playing / trying golf one of the out-standing "tasks"?

Iv'e been golfing once. I would definatley want to try a driving range first. Not only do they look like a lot of fun, it would really help us get ready for the course.

The thing is, I don't care if we suck. I'm not one bit worried about being embarassed.

BUT, getting us all together would mean it'd have to be a weekend game, and golf courses are busy on the weekend. Etiquette is very important to golfers, and if we go and suck it up and take forever, the people stuck behind us will be very upset.

I don't care about that either but if you can play a little better it is a little more fun.

*highfive* for enthusiasm on an outdoor activity!

I'm getting a tent, so if all you kids are really adventurous there is also the option of camping... or maybe starting slow with a picnic. I can't golf, but I wish you all much luck!

OMG camping jstymie April 15 2004, 15:42:41 UTC
I've really been wanting to go camping the last couple years, but no one camps the way I like to camp.

OK, I've had some offers to go "camping", but I passed because it consisted of staying at a cabin with running water and electricity. That's the only way any of these people would camp.

If anyone wants to do it my way -- i.e. you take a fishing pole, frying pan, and a knife for your food (and a couple cans of beans or something in case you don't catch anything)....

Have tent. Will travel.
