*hugs* I know what you mean- after spending so much on dolls, sometimes it gets a bit iffy for me too, and that is with me already selling on EBay and garage sales, etc. I know there will always be mean people around that SAY they wouldn't sell their gift, but if the shoe was on the other foot, they would sell and cry bloody murder if anyone calls them on it. The most important thing is that YOU and those that really know YOU know the truth, and it will still be hard at times when the vipers come out, but at least you will be able to sleep at night knowing you are doing the right thing, no matter how hard it is right now, and maybe someday you can come back to the hobby. *HUGS*
Well if you are dropping out of the hobby anyway then who cares what they say. It's not going to affect you since you won't even be on any of the forums.
Bills and hell LIFE really should come before dolls anyway. They are pretty pieces of resin, but ultimately they are just objects. They aren't alive. If you have other priorities then you should focus on those things instead.
well i'm sure soom would understand if they heard about it - you're selling because of more pressing necessities, which is understandable. i would want to adopt your kanoa except i have already one on the way. (the white rabbit one :> )
I have to say that I know your troubles. When I was paying $500 a month for rent/utilities, and around $100-$200 for gas/pitching in on house food/etc, only making about $500-$600 a month... I felt my head begin to bob under the water a few times. I somehow managed to make it through, but there were a few times I considered selling one or all of my dolls. Thankfully I never had to, but if you do you shouldn't feel bad about it. If you can yourself sell out of the hobby and that makes your life better for it, then don't listen to anyone else. It is not them having to deal with your life, so their opinions really don't matter. Do what you have to. I wish you luck in whatever you do. <3
Think how cluttered your room would be if you kept anything anybody ever gave you over your whole lifetime. I think there's always a pang of guilt in having to get rid of something that was a gift, but one can't really move on in life when trapped by obligations to inanimate objects. Be sane and do what's best for you.
