unorganized rambling

I'm pretty sure it's the black mold - the DJ of my morning discos. My bathroom rave. It has been ever-so-slowly creeping out of my light switch. I can almost hear the light yell "sike!" as it switches off right as I enter the shower. I wonder if it's toxicIt turns out showers are much more enjoyable in the dark anyway, at least in the morning ( Read more... )

A few days ago I rediscovered an old hobby: reading random LJ community members journals and replying to the interesting ones. A fun hobby for two reasons: 1) insight into the minds of smattering of people, and 2) laughing at the oft repeated OMG-are-you-stalking-me? response. How big of an ego does someone need to think anyone would want to stalk them? Seems silly to me.

Excellent, I sort of beat you at your own game! :p

OMG am i stalking you....... well we do have the same hobby LOL

I studied Alternative medicine for a bit and i have a suggestion for your sleeping.

Drink Valerian Root tea 3 times a week (not anymore then that) Drink chamomile tea on the days you don't drink Valerian, it is safe to drink daily. The valerian always did the trick for me and Chamomile will relax you.

Melatonin is what alot of my friens use as a sleep aid but it doesn't work well for me... I need something that I can FEEL the blackness coming in.

Ha!

Hmm.. I'll give that a try. I've tried cocktails of valerian and melatonin before (often with diphenhydramine and alcohol, among other things) with negligible change in sleep (or lack thereof), but I haven't tried valerian tea or chamomile yet.

Hmm... well I think when your system is more cleansed from those kind of chemicals it takes better to the natural way. I only mixed with THC =P One thing that will make you so tired you can't help but sleep would be to do the *master cleanse* but that's only for the people crazy enough to try it. You'll be so lazy you won't even want to keep your eyes open. If you actually made it through the cleanse you'd have better luck with sleeping and other things in general.... I personally can't do the cleanse I have to little will power

I went to Brain Awareness Week at OMSI several years back (dressed for the Einstein look-a-like contest of all things LOLOL) and one of the seminar/talks I attended offered through OHSU mentioned melatonin. The Dr. answering the questions gave a huge frown and said the brain creates it to regulate sleep, and the amount we need to keep a healthy sleep cycle is .000somthing and the doses available to the public actually do the opposite because even if you were to crush up the pill and take just a pin needle size of the powder, you'd still be getting too much and creating a imbalance in sleep. *(or something to that affect)* It was amusing though, because He was SUPER annoyed by the mention of melatonin and went OFF on a speal about how it is worse if you have insomnia or not getting regular sleep ( ... )

You know someone in the building?? Spooky!

I hardly ever see anyone there, except for the people smoking outside. In the 5ish months I've been there I've only seen 2 or 3 of the people on my floor. Lots of reclusive/elderly people there it seems.

There's a point system? Oh no! noisybastard September 7 2007, 22:44:51 UTC
In my opinion the studios are small enough that you kind of have to keep them clean or you won't be able to get out the door. He has room for a bike?

OMG, I peeked at your journal (just this one entry however) the other day after you commented in my DP post and we ALMOST neighbors! Weird. Okay, well, I'm way up by safeway, but still downtown, and on the same street.

Er. I'm a little late with this, but now I don't feel so bad about reading your journal after drunkenly trying to foist my roommate off on internet strangers. I made basically all of my posts friends only after I realized how crazy and melodramatic I must sound to strangers, but you seem very logical and coherent. Good job!

Haha. I should probably make mine friends only for the same reason but... meh. I would really only care if I got denied a job because of something I said on here, but I think I'd find that funny enough to be worth the lost job.

If I ever seem logical it's a total coincidence. Speaking of drinking!

Yeah, the roommate actually found my journal thanks to one isolated mention of a friend's website (it somehow came up as the last option on a google search page), and she read my journal (and kept reading and reading), and got all the frustration from our crazy neighbors and of course stuff about her :) Which I shouldn't have written down, it was just ranting (although who has asthma and smokes and doesn't dust or sweep??), but that DEFINITELY taught me my lesson.

Anyway, one of the other people that posted on here was recommending sleep aids. I don't know if you're still having troubles sleeping, but alcohol is pretty much the last thing you should try for it- even if you fall asleep/pass out, your sleep will likely be more restless, less refreshing, leaving you feeling more tired the next day. Plus it drains the serotonin from your brain :)

Just thought I'd point that out. I have sleep problems, too, and I find Benadryl to be strangely hit or miss.

Ahh, roommates, yes! That would be a good reason to go friends only. I don't have roommates and don't really know anyone here, so I hadn't considered that ( ... )
